The Curious Potato

I believe this is the mark of a shit show:
LOST IN NUMBERS: The 108 Questions We Want 'Lost' To Answer
To be fair, it could also represent a very long prank.

Lost: we've just been fucking with you.

I still haven't watched it.

Twin Peaks was similar. I saw the pilot - at the Vancouver Film Festival! - and laughed when I heard leaving crowds trying to figure out who the murderer was.

It seemed like a great game - then they solved the murder. A stupid idea that apparently Lynch was against.

Why don't I have anything better to do tonight?

Never watched it, have friends who are totally into it.

WV: babyt Subliminal clothing advertisement?

Never watched it all the way through. Which I gather is the same experience as having watched it all the way through.

I have been swamped with work. Not the same as being swamped with payments, mind you.

But as a result, my TV watching has declined precipitously. Which means by a large amount.

So I am objectively better than people who watch Lost.

Nyah nyah nyah.

Of course, M. Bouffant watches no tv, so he's like a saint. Like Tim Tebow, or Lileks.

I've never watched "Lost" either. Nor American Idol. We are an odd demographic here at the House, aren't we.

The only TV shows I watch are "Burn Notice" and "Big Bang Theory", and I watch them on the intert00bz, not on the tv.

The tv is for 2 things. Sports, and something to stare at and fuck around with when I'm drunk or high enough that reading either books or webstuff isn't a viable option. Most of that tv watching is done with the sound on Mute and the music playing, but not all.

Oh! I also enjoy watching a real-life cops show on A&E I think called "First 48". It follows homicide dicks, typically in the south and midwest, as they work on one case from the 911 call to the end. I root for the shooters. In every case, the cops figure out who did it right away, but they usually haven't got shit for evidence so they try to get the dumb bastards to incriminate themselves, with surprising success. They have actually footage of the interrogations. I'm yelling at the dumb fuck in the interview room, "Just shut UP, don't say squat, they HAVE to let you go if you don't say something STUPID" and sometimes they gut it out. But lots of times the cops can get them to say "I did it" which is freakin AMAZING to me. I mean, convicted is convicted, don't help them out fer gawds sake...

Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters, mikey. Real life and explosions done in the name of science.

Dammit.

This is gonna be the first stupor bowl since the late eighties I didn't get a bet down on.

But it's freakin impossible to pick a team with any conviction.

I can make a compelling case that either NO or Indy will win.

So I'll sit here with a pot of chili and a pile of Tandoori Quesadillas (oh yeah, babe) and a pocket full of cash and find it really hard to care who wins the goddam thing.

Sports. A whole lot less interesting without a bet down...

Guilt is powerful in some. We call them suckers.

I, for some reason (should have known better) watched the first episode, & was surprised to see the fat guy had been a wage slave w/ me in the retail book biz, plus the show was sort of intriguing, so I kept watching.

Then I thought, I'll record it & watch in great chunks, so I can really get it.

Last thing I remember was ...

I really don't watch much of anything. Got rid of the TV but I have a cable modem, with which I can pipe picture-in-picture TV to my monitor as I waste time here...but I never seem to do that. YOU PEOPLE ARE FASCINATING.

I feel lucky when I only have 108.

I love "Lost." Almost gave up a few seasons ago when they were treading water, but once they announced they were only going to do six seasons, it got much better.

I don't watch hardly nothing, hence the ginormous TV screen at the holiday house vortexed me in, at times.
I saw the first 'Lost' and then gave up. Too hard for this brain.
NZ's most favourite Grown-up's dramaOutrageous Fortune kind of interests me. I want to see who the crooked cop shot in the cliff hanger last episode.

In my defense, I was deprived of a telebision until the age of ten or so by fascist parental units.

Almost made up for the lost time, though.

The crooked cop will turn out to have dreamt the whole thing (unless it's the victim who dreamt it).
