So, they instituted a "fair catch" rule, resulting in fewer tackles? Help me out here.
I can't say I read The Whole Thing, but I did watch the "Anthony Kim hits spectator in butt." It was disappointing.

We're in a golden age for golf researchBest news of the day.
Golf is NOT boring. You bring your camera and take nature pics while everyone else is puttering around.~
I suppose I can sort of conceptually understand why people PLAY golf. I cannot, however, even begin to grasp why people WATCH golf. Some sports are designed from the ground up as spectator sports, a source of entertainment for an audience. Others are more strictly participatory, where there is no satisfaction provided other than by playing the game. I have found many people become obsessive to the point of mental illness over the game of golf, so I can see why some would decide to analyze it at a highly granular level. But teh Subster is right - that doesn't make it any more interesting...
Needs moar landmines.
of course, the people who came up with 'golf research' as a field, let alone a career, are geniuses.America!! Greatest country in the world!!!
