Is our engineers learning? Not by my experience. Same old doofuses they've always been.
ZRM boldly challenges N__B to a duel. Of course, he is a zombie...~
(Theo.)This indicates the course is cross-listed: engineering and theology.
Dear God, I hope our building doesn't fall down.-Your humble engineer and servant~
Does "Building Elements" require students to have quantum forklift experience?
Dear God, I hope our building doesn't fall down.I believe that is what the owners say, when they find that the engineer is a frequent commenter at Sadly, No.
I have to step in here to offer a counterpoint. Not in defense of engineers, but simply appalled at the architect viewpoint. My first career was selling windows and doors. Now, window and door manufacturers build to a standard set of sizes specifically to provide cost savings due to standardization and economies of scale. But Architects hated ALL the available sizes. It seemed to interfere with their 'vision'. So if you want a window to fit an RO that is an inch and a half larger than the standard size, you draw the picture that way. Of course, the window manufacturers are more than happy to build out your fourteen custom windows, it's just that they'll cost twenty times as much as the off-the-shelf versions. Architects don't mind this at all. Everybody wins, except the poor bastard who's writing the checks. Not intended to provoke an particular zombie architects, it is just an observation....
Who tilted my computer monitor?!W/v = "poleduct". Perhaps an architect can explain this term.
I was going to ask Mikey to be my second in the upcoming duel with ZRM, but I believe he's now first.
No, no.The list of shit I don't know is longer than john holmes.I'm just sharing something I experienced a long time ago. Next we can talk about Glu-Lams....
Islamic Studies...2?One class is curiosity, two classes means someone's a terrist.
well, mikey is correct as far as he goes.It would have helped if the designers of those standard window sizes had an inkling of proportion, but whatever.Today's reality is, however, somewhat different. through computerized production and just-in-time inventory practices, Most window manufacturers (except for the cheapo vinyl guys) today are able to produce custom sizes at the same prices as their 'standard' sizes. Within certain constraints, of course, having to do with the physical limitations of the glass and framing. In fact, the standard sized windows are pretty much just printed in order to give homeowners and builders a catalog size to pick from, when they are unwilling or unable to design their own sizes.I am, however, somewhat perversely proud of the fact that I have appalled mikey.
I occasionally get an erection when I feel a draft. Can I be an engineer?
I occasionally get an erection when I feel a draft. Can I be an engineer?Maybe. If you get an erection while drafting, you can be an architect.
I think we can all agree that we are tired of erectioneering.
