Well, he does have the mustache for the job.
The voice will be tougher...

I am worried. I don't think ANYBODY can replace Freddie without disappointing. Certainly Paul Rogers couldn't. If there was every a true one-of-a-kind icon, both a soaring talent and gigantic personality, it was Freddie.
I understand why they're doing this. I just don't think it can be done. And I'd greatly prefer it if they'd just leave the memories well enough alone...
Hey, lookit that. W/V wants to help me tranifi
Well, it's not like you HAVE to see it, and the guy was pretty private, so it indulges the inner snoop.
Had a sometime-groupie girlfriend once - imagine, a naïve groupie! - who reported being shocked at Freddie's backstage companions. HA HA.
A huge part of his charm was his extremely limited selectivity in sex partners. A fascinating study in dedication to having a good time!
Yeah, you're right. It's hard not see these things, though, no matter how many times you're disappointed. I watched about half of "The Road". It really wasn't a bad film - it's just there was NO WAY to make a movie of that book. They had no choice but to turn it into an action pic, but that's just SO much not what it was. But you can't make a movie out of McCarthy's inner dialog/narrative style. Same reason they can make decent films OUT OF elmore leonard's novels, but they can't make films OF them. They'd only be fifteen minutes of incredibly compelling dialog and a shooting.
Well, never having been able to see Freddie perform, I have to say it's interesting. Borat is enough of a chameleon to pull it off (veiled something or other)
I'm with mikey on Freddie in general, and I did manage to see Rodgers-Queen. It wasn't so good. Wasn't BAD, mind you; just wasn't really Queen.
Yeah, I thought about that. I should have said Paul Rogers does a great job with the songs and the band and even stylistically. He just ain't Freddie. Nobody is, and like truly transcendent talents, nobody could ever be...
One of the few times I ever got offended at a concert was a little after Freddie's death at an American Music Club show. What's-his-name the singer thought Freddie was a shitty singer. It was stupid, given that what's-his-name is not a great singer either and that I can't remember a single AMC song off the top of my head despite that otherwise-pretty-good show and my ownership of AMC material.
Freddie Mercury a shitty singer? Sounds like a tea party position. Like Obama's a muslim and tax cuts increase revenues. You know, one of those made-up positions that runs so counter to obvious, empirical reality that you just stand there and make spluttering noises...
Well, it's not like you HAVE to see it
Whew! Talk about dodging a bullet.

I thought No Country for Old Men was excellent.
And it might be disagree with Mikey day, because I thought Kilmer did an excellent job as Morrison in The Doors, and I would put JM in the same category of special as FM.
That said, I have no idea if Cohen can pull it off.
I would put JM in the same category of special as FM.
I think the following day is apparently Disagree with Fish Day, because I don't think so much of Morrison.
Every day is disagree with fish day. However, zombie is wrong.
Every day is disagree with fish day.
No it isn't.
Jim Morrison died from drugs.
Freddie Mercury died from sex.
THERE! I RUN RINGS AROUND YOU LOGICALLY!!!
