Texas Democrats have filed a lawsuit after learning that an out-of-state Republican consultant helped the Green Party qualify for the state's general-election ballot for the first time since 2002—a surprising turn of events Democrats claim is a plot to hurt their gubernatorial candidate in November.
The Texas Democratic Party filed the suit Thursday against Arizona-based consultant Timothy F. Mooney, a Missouri group called Take Initiative America Inc., the Texas Green Party and "unknown conspirators," alleging a slew of state election-law violations.

ACORN! ACORN! ACORN!
Cue screeching of so-called progressives to get the Green Party candidate removed from the ballot. TBogg will probably make a "Free Mumia" joke and tell everyone to grow up...
And this strategy (from both sides) is not new. I remember seeing this in at least two other election cycles. With completely predicable reactions.
Somehow it doesn't sink in to the Democrats that if a Green candidate is a threat to their candidate, perhaps there is something wrong with their candidate.
This is the party I get to vote for and in Canada I'm pissed at the Greens here for just that kind of vote-splitting...while people are pissed at NDP voters for splitting the anti-conservative vote (presumably the anti-conservative liberals led by that shitbag Michael Ignatieff). It's all relative.
...alleging a slew of state election-law violations.
A 'slew' of violations. How many is a slew? Can I have a slew of dollars now? How about a slew of Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum?
If I used all my biggest pots, could I make a slew of stew? Ewwww.
"What is it doc? What's wrong with me?" "I'm sorry to tell you, son. A whole slew of things."
Hang on Slewpy. Slewpy hang on.
There's a whole slew of poo in the sewer so I'm gonna sue. A slew of suits. But never enough socks....
Making sure people don't get on the ballot seems kinda anti-democratic to me.
If I lived in Canada, I would vote straight Rhino Party. I could have (if I were old enough) in 1988.
We could have had a death ray, but NO.
And let us not forget Brian "Godzilla" Salmi, currently known as Satan.
I thought he did very well in that debate against T. Raax.
That guy really is somebody makes the city better. Had some drinks with him once while he was in Godzilla garb.
How many is a slew?
Do you remember when "raft" was the favourite journo word for "large number of abstract concepts but 'large number' doesn't sound punchy enough"?
I'm a big fan of 'Shitload'...
