That song makes me want to wear white pleather ankle boots and gesture prettily at things.

Dig the guiro sound at the beginning!

The Les Crane Desiderata record is 100% GREAT. He went out of his way to beat Negativland to sonic propaganda.

Crane had a show on ABC late at night in the late '60s, & did some "wacky" stuff. Worth a YouTube expedition, maybe.

Mme. Slayer could gesture at The Pretty Things.

Prettily, of course.

I recommend The Cake.

What the hell is in the bottom left-hand corner of the album?

Alas, I no longer have the album, so I can't tell (let alone remember). It does look like a solarized or reversed negative of a child.

Oh, look, there's more! Maybe it's a dog- (or pig-) faced child.

Building on the reverse of the album (left side of extended picture) is London's Centrepoint.

The child with hand looming into extreme foreground looks less grotesque when you invert the colours and see that he or she is wearing a head-scarf.

The relevance of the Centrepoint building is that it was completed a year or two before Parachute came out, and already had the reputation of being the ugliest building in Londers. Though people swear that the view from the top is wonderful, largely because it's the one place where you can't see Centrepoint.
