Must-See Entertainment

News from one of the many places that pretends to be a kind of Hollywood:
Six people have been injured in an explosion on the set of the feature film Dungeon Siege II in a provincial park east of Vancouver.
The show must go on! Break a leg! Blow up in a propane-tank explosion! Et cetera! Please bring us Dungeon Siege II as the world is clamouring for it!

Who is heading up the crew of artistes endeavouring to bring us the finest in projectimacated pictures?
The film is being directed by Uwe Boll and stars Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren, who was last seen in the film the Expendables.
World, you owe us for cradling this soon-to-be masterpiece. Kiwis can EAT IT: WE IMPORTED BOLL.

Until the law was changed in 2005, Boll was able to acquire funding thanks to German tax laws that reward investments in film. The law allowed investors in German-owned films to write off 100% of their investment as a tax deduction; it also allowed them to invest borrowed money and write off any fees associated with the loan. The investor was then only required to pay taxes on the profits made by the movie; if the movie loses money, the investor got a tax writeoff.

Next up: Springtime for Hitler!

Ah, show bidness.

Worked w/ a lighting guy once who told the tale of wiring lights in a wet environment (Or something, less than safe for sure.); he insisted there be someone w/ a wooden plank standing by if needed to separate him from the electricity if he got so zapped he couldn't move.
