The portrait itself is quite informal. The president is sitting casually on the edge of a sofa, and he has a warm, relaxed expression on his face, despite the hardships of his eight years in office.
The unbesmirched painting looks like he's done something he's just a little bit proud of, like bowled a perfect game, but realises that it's not really a big deal.

Is that Klavan? Maybe Cheney works, too?

Hmm, thematically I think you'd have to have Cheney in the caregiver's role, assuming Cheney and some word with "care" can go together...

It would be very wrong to phop the Great Dome from the Volksalle onto the top of Andrew Klavan's head. I certainly shouldn't do that.
Are you SURE that's what Thers had in mind?
Oh, positive. I mean, what else could it be?
At this moment I will drink almost anything with alcohol in it.
I think he looks like he is letting one rip into the sofa so no one will catch him.
It looks like a paint-by-number.
I wonder if Dan Lacey does paint-by-number kits.
#12 is pancake color. That tube is always the largest.
