On a related note, I have absolutely fallen ass over teakettle in love with Google Music - Um, I think they're calling it Google Play now, but whatevs.
Now that there's actually a client/uploader tool for Linux and they've made enough progress on the Android player so that it's quite usable (with VOICE commands!) it's just about the greatest mp3 player I've ever used. Well worth the cost!
VS, if iTunes was an available option I'd probably be using it - although I'm kind of uncomfortable with iCloud in general. But alas, Apple refuses to provide a browser-based iTunes, so for many of us we must look elsewhere...
iCloud give you a choice of what to sync, so right now I have a calendar synced and email I never use and it leaves my music alone. I don't much like the idea of people sniffing through the music library, so Google Play is out.
Oh, and mikey I should add that I'm on a 2 year old computer that needs more memory, so I'm fairly impatient with any new program I try. On a faster computer, GooglePlay could be great.
Google lets you upload 20,000 songs for free. So wild guess, they're probably hosting well over half a billion songs. If they want to sniff through my five thousand or so, well, I'm actually flattered.
Oh, and VS? Don't feel bad. My primary machine is a Dell Inspiron laptop I bought in 2006. It's on it's third hard drive and uses a usb wifi card because the internal one croaked. The battery no longer works, so it has to stay plugged in, and there's some kind of flaw in the motherboard so that it boot fails three out of four times.
But you throw Ubuntu Linux on this old warrior and it runs like a champ!

This is what happens when the US president goes gay, THE CHAOS, THE CHAOS
I'm telling everyone!!
LOL!
GOOD LORD.
I was gonna blame this on Limewire but I see it's from 2008 so it can't be.
I've picked up diseases from limewire. When I had a PC.
And my LOL was for AK.
I used the beta of OSX so I haven't worried about viruses since some time in 2001. Doesn't mean I'm not spreading them to PC's...
Mind you it might be time to spring for Little Snitch.
Substance McG, spreading bugs for over a decade!

Thanks. I'll give that a look.
I found GooglePlay kinda laggy and didn't really find anything it could do that iTunes couldn't.

Linux folks use Banshee don't they?
Yeah, you don't want people learning about the polka and the nickelback.

Hey, I'm full of shit: turned Genius on although I never use it. I should turn it off.

Says the guy who posts screencaps of his library on the internets.
Genius never works with about 40% of my music, let alone the Mating Sounds of North American Frogs.

I hear sirens, but they'll never catch me because the sign on my door says sativarGcM. Planning!

You have to be Goatsesoft™ Certified.
That's just silly.
No machinist would have a tool large enough to...
Oh man, even I don't like where this is going.
Tool. As in Tool and Die.
Never mind...
Great, fish is trying to drown himself AGAIN.
The only conclusion that can be made is I AM IMMORTAL!!!
