Gift Ideas

When you send these cards start with the light ones and proceed to the darker ones:

Here is what I spent too much on at Christmas. I mean, what the fuck is that about? You spend money on cool shit and just GIVE IT AWAY? Unbelievable.

I bought the plates at Walrus. They have good taste and appear to be nice folks.

HOW do I get on your Christmas list? I would murder for those plates, they are so badass.

Short of murder you may be able to get in touch with the kooky Germans who make them. Maybe I should include a local plug.

Store where I got them. Overall good taste.

For next $mas you can buy me a Nomi Chi painting.

Oooooh, pretty!

I still rate for these, however.

Still, I may have to have those Frankenstein plates. They're extremely cool.

I checked Nomi Chi's 'store" and found nothing there. Bet I can find her stuff somewhere, though. Gorgeous, interesting stuff.

I'll bet if you wrote her she'd be thrilled.

The style seems familiar...I think I saw something on the street in front of the art gallery that was similar that I liked...maybe it's the current trend here, or maybe it was her.

It's definitely reminiscent of a lot of stuff I've seen and liked.

What I was thinking of. I believe the two creatures are sitting on a narwhal. The artist had a friend whose art was hung on the fence but was off doing something. The tattoo place Chi works at is a couple of blocks away.

That's incredibly cute and cool and reminds me of an artist I worship from afar.

Also, it's odd knowing I have almost the exact same haircut as TLD. (I just got all my hair chopped off.)

I guess it comes under "pop surrealism" but there are probably narrower labels for them what wants them.
Has anyone brought her to Boing Boing's attention?

That would be a nice thing to do, wouldn't it? She's got that hep tattoo angle the kids who won't get off my lawn seem to love.

Via a convenient link on Chi's blog I am guessing The Lovely Daughter was yakking with Kristian Adam.

Can any artist be be brought to their attention the also artist asked.

There's a SUBMIT link at the top of Boing Boing's page. I've submitted a few things, can't recall if they got posted. MetaFilter is also good.

How many times have I heard those words (& in that order) before something that ended badly?

SOME of them tasted GREAT.
