I don't see how you're going to spell neanderthal with those tiles...

Perhaps "MENTICE" is hurtful to whoever Substance is playing against?

I've been on a losing Scrabble streak lately. *sob*

I don't know how much "ghouls" got its player, but I would love to lay down a word like that. I sometimes feel satisfied just making neat words. I used to get into trouble that way, because I'd concentrate on words instead of points. Now when you can put a great word and make a buttload of points...? That's THE BESTEST!

"Dennis the Mentice" was a pretty unpopular show.

You don't have one of those Lazy Susan Scrabble boards? Poseur!

I think Susan gets a bad rap. She's suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, she's not lazy...

This is Super Scrabble so the board's bigger and there's much more ability to make crazy words, and the points skyrocket like pinball.

Ghoul didn't score so well and that game I had every fucking N, usually three at once.

It's fun to play electronic scrabble and find out some weird word you made with your tiles is actually a word.

I recently had an e-game where I seemed to have every "u" in the "bag" and it did not end prettily for me.

So, do you like Super-Scrabble or do you prefer the original? AF me.

I like Super Scrabble because there's more space to make seven-letter words. All those words you can't make in regular scrabble you have a shot at with the big board. Two Q's, two Z's. You tend not to give a shit about setting anyone else up because there are so many more options that it's hard to keep track of.

It's longer, the letter distribution is a little different.

I'm still in that phase, VS, where the intrinsic quality of the word rates more than points. And I always thought "nice guys finish last" meant they got to stay in the game longest... and "a stitch in time..." conjured a scene in deep space with a needle and thread. 'Nuff said!

The latest Scrabble dictionary seems just absurdly forgiving. Beth, for instance, counts because it's a Hebrew letter, and that is FUCKED UP. There are a bunch of varying spellings of words from Arabic and I think you can do "chi" (Chinese) as qi and also xi.

Substance, I'll toast to yer good health this eve. Have a great New Year!

Many thanks! You too.

Beth? Now you've gone too far, Scrabble.

But, yeah, that does seem kind of ridiculous.

Whip that one out on T&U and then laugh at HER STUPID NAME WHICH ISN'T EVEN A WORD.

I'll laugh like this guy

Someone seems to have done that in THIS VERY GAME.

I also have difficulty accepting that 'oe' is a particular wind encountered on the Faroe Islands.

The "I think" part referred to the "chi" - damn straight I'm gonna use a "qi" if I have to...but I don't think that was me.
