Podcasterino

Linden McIntyre is subbing for Anna Maria Tremonti at a CBC radio show called The Current. He's a better interviewer. This show has two good interviews, one about novels and one with the naïve David Frum about his getting the boot.

Here's a direct link to a long interview with a soldier who converted to Islam while serving at Guantanamo Bay.

They actually talk a little bit about that, and though he acknowledges that he had about the same routine as the prisoners - the guards don't have anything to do either in their off hours - he still figures it wasn't a case of that.

It seems to me like a yokel's first brush with the great wide world, although delivered to him through a prisoner's eyes. It's like he's a tourist in their heads.
