The Creative Impulse

Ann Coulter:
So now, apparently, we have to go through the cycle of the media pushing Newt Gingrich. This is going to be fantastic.

[Anti-Newt venom excised]

The mainstream media keep pushing alternatives to Mitt Romney not only because they are terrified of running against him, but also because they want to keep Republicans fighting, allowing Democrats to get a four-month jump on us.

Meanwhile, everyone knows the nominee is going to be Romney.
That is some potent and powerful bullshit that plays perfectly to nitwits right now, but DOUBLE-EDGED BULLSHIT, as Romney is, then, required to be the front-runner at some point in the future; can the always-lying media report such an event?

You are an appropriate judge of that.

The ultimate ham.

* Kirk, I'm not sure what Coulter is...just a wingnut welfare scammer I suppose.

Assuming that Coulter is a good judge of the richest sources of grievance at any given time and tailors her bullshit accordingly, this would indicate that a lot of Republicans are realising that the interminable series of debates is not the free good publicity that they thought at the time, and are looking for someone else to blame for organising it.

And we would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you meddling mainstream media!

In re ZRM #2, I wonder: does one haz more of a sad by posting at TownHall or HumanEvents?

There are times when I would give tall dollars to be reminded of how I got to a given site, for the first time, on the Internet. I am trying to remember if there was any blogroll (how quaint!?) connection between Brando and Sub McG or his previous incarnation.

I think I first came across the latter via S,N!, but I'm not sure. And I totally forget how I came across the former.

All this tracking of our every move on the Web, and I will never be able to answer those questions. As the CAPTCHA says, shfugo.

Ya. If I could just remember which Yglesias' commenter turned me onto the clip of the Star Trek episode that featured the improvised card game by which Kirk and Spock tricked their captors into getting beaten in a fight so that our heroes could make their escape, and if Yglesias didn't dump his whole history of comments at odd intervals, then I could find that clip now and suggest a ruse to beating the Republicans in the 2012 presidential election campaign. They are, no doubt, stupid enough to fall for it.

The mainstream media [...] want to keep Republicans fighting

The smart way to respond to the media's attempts to keep Republicans fighting is of course to fight with another Republican.

Why doesn't anyone fight with me over mixing metaphors? I came up with that one lickety swift.
