Back in the distant, myst-shrouded past, Co-Ops at UC Berkeley used to give "Crasher Emeritus" status to old guys the residents found worthy. The original CE was a homeless street person named "Purple Cloud". Purp was a genuinely good guy, everyone liked him, the cops liked him, he was just a good soul.
Evidently that wasn't the only selection criterion because a few years later I was also awarded Crasher Emeritus status...
