Mitt's Charisma Advantage

Thomas Sowell, on side for his team:
After the charismatic -- and disastrous -- Woodrow Wilson presidency, the voters did not elect another president in the next decade who could be considered the least bit charismatic. Let us hope that history repeats itself.

After Herbert Hooover, pretty much every US president elected has been charismatic. Let's hope history does something or other.

Yeah, I mean, c'mon Tom, with constant 24x7 video, interviews, debates, TeeVee, YouTube, radio, debates, speeches and the occasional responses to unpredictable events, any candidate that lacks charisma is going to be at a significant disadvantage...

Sure, history shows again & again that we'll elect a couple of dullards, & then the economy will go to ++hell.

P.S. Our social safety net was put in place by charismatic Presidents. Who do you want cutting Social Security, Obama or Romney?

OK, a decade is two presidents, the first of which was Warren Harding who was indeed considered charismatic. In fact, the Google tells me many folks wrote articles comparing Obama to Harding, most often decrying the mistake of choosing an inexperienced person just because he's charismatic. Coolidge only became president because Harding died, and was elected only because he was the incumbent. So there was ONE VOTE where the "not the least bit charismatic" guy won, and he was already in the office. Imma gonna call that a FAIL.

Man, you have to marvel at Tom Sowell's lack of self-awareness, opening with this, on the Double A version of the wingnut big leagues, Clownhall: "Even squirrels know enough to store nuts ...:

In faint defense, maybe he also hates Scientologists.

Apologies for an obscure baseball joke. So nationist.

This may sound a little ... depraved? But I like to think of Kathryn Jean Lopez going all Trojan Twister with that GIF.

Not that she actually masturbates, of course.

Oh, and speaking of Our National Pastime, the late night wrap-up on the MLB channel of course concluded with a summary of league standings, which of course meant the otherwise fine host could not avoid letting slip the ©liché "neck and neck," which has now caused me to become oddly focused on that bulging on Willard's "neck."

Needz moar swelling.

I'm thinking a robotic pulse, and then K-Lo's head bursting out, Alienishly.

Okay, I'll stop. Laptop's battery's about to die, anyway.
