Just Because

It's not that it's genius or even interesting, but it reminds me that Pearl Jam were always lame.

Yeah, I've never seen the huge deal about Pearl Jam, although I've liked some of their stuff, particularly the semi-acoustic Benaroya Hall. Seen em live, too, and the sound is a muddle at best.

The first album really just left me cold, still does.

Eddie Vedder is popular...

Eddie Vedder did a ukelele album?

I don't know if that makes me like him more, or mock him more.

Though that song did not much do it for me, I must say that I agree about Pearl Jam. However, and at the risk of incurring the wrath of M.B., I say this in large part because because I think Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and STP's music holds up so much better.

Yeah, I saw most of those bands at the time and it seemed plain that Pearl Jam was a contrivance in comparison.

The song above is from 1972 and is apparently prog/folk, which is amusing.

Did you ever hear Ultrasound?

Perhaps Ant Phillips rings a bell?

I never got the fuss over Pearl Jam. I liked "Evenflow" and "Alive." And THAT'S IT. I found a lot of their stuff sort of tedious.

I thought those two borrowed their riffs from Soundgarden songs, so I was down on them.

I seem to remember a drummer leaving because he wanted to have FUN.

either that or he exploded.

I plead ignorance. Other than that Nirvana song that sounds like a Killing Joke tune, I wouldn't recognize anything from any of those bands, so they all must suck.

Mudhoney was the good half of the Green River split, Pearl Jam being the bad, and they did a Hate the Police you might like.

We all know what kind of bell.
