Frank Sinatra Jr.

Took Ma out to see Frank Sinatra Jr. An odd show, not least him doing "My Way" as close to his dad's way as he could. Apart from that, there was something unsettling about it. Don't know what it was.

You're supposed to yell out "Look out behind you Frankie!!!" Subby. It's the magic of the theatre an' all that

Look out what? The piano player's going to drop a piano on your head? No, that guy looked a little old to be lifting pianos.

The poor kid can't get over the fact that he wasn't even BORN yet when his dad and his pals RAMPAGED over the known universe. In a time when sex didn't kill you, drugs were not mentioned, alcohol made you cute and cigarettes were manly. When you could bang a man's wife and he'd thank you and ask for an autograph. When you would disappoint if you didn't try to bed your host's wife, daughter AND maid.

Get over it, kid. You've parleyed your birthright into plenty of buzz and bush. But no matter what you do, and no matter how perfectly you do it, you will never know a time, indeed, there will never BE a time like that again...

Would merely seeing Sr. have been unsettling too?

(Beyond the fact that Senior'd be either dead or propped up & wheezing.)

Is Junior Zappa's show as unsettling, one wonders?

mikey is too right: Gone are the days.
