240 Layers, Weaklings

Four planes occupy the same space in Quartz Composer, but a little tilt on the X and Y axes makes them poke through each other.

And with that idea comes this additional horrification:

Now 50% more layers! Looks much "nicer" as a screensaver I must say.

I assume you went to the 1-bit color and posterization because at full resolution it was huge. But maybe at some color depth and lower resolution? I think it loses something in B&W...

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I could have done some YouTube...I have a "namby-pamby pussies" soundtrack getting organized...but I like my gifs.

I always think I'm hot stuff when I make something with over a hundred layers, which is most things, because I'm so anal...but 240 layers? Fuggedabuddit.

I don't think I'm organized enough to handle too many layers that are not in an obvious sequence; I get distracted and go in another direction and don't keep naming conventions straight and what I end up with is worse than just following the fucking plan would be.

I don't name my layers more often than I do. Now who's the dum-dum?

It depends; I kind of assume Photoshop might have some automatic layer-naming in a meaningful way, where The Gimp has nothing. If I'm wrong someone at Adobe is not on their game.

I hate it when a plan comes together.
