Fuck You Greens

Once again, the Greens prove their commitment to progressive politics by throwing the election to the right-wing party. My daughter and my wallet (lighter now that the government has decided some medical care shouldn't be covered) thank you. Assholes.

At the moment:

Why, look at the vote totals. Those Green votes added to the NDP votes add up to a lot of powerless displeasure and isn't that satisfying?

UPDATARINO:

As usual the CBC's Vote Compass is entertaining fun in which I occupy a teensy outlying spot in the corner of an XY graph plotting social and economic concerns. It says I should vote Green! (That is I am about 77% Green and 76% NDP, thus showing the stark difference in the two parties and my clear choice.) Which is fine if I want to throw votes to a party with almost entirely the same platform as the party with the power base. What assholes. If I was a Liberal I would be sending thank-you letters.

I think we all know whence comes political power.

Shit, I learned my lesson, voting for Nader in 2000, even though Gore won New York handily.

Not gonna do that sort of thing again.

It'd be really easy to just push policy change from within. This place is not overpopulated yet and the NDP/Green overlap is enormous. Greens and US Democrats have a far wider gap to bridge.

I dunno enough about your greens vs dippers, but I hear a similar argument here in THE ONLY REAL PART OF CANADA about how the dippers and the grits should unite against the tories.

In Ontario, the argument is total BS. There's a pretty significant gap between Upper Canada Red and Orange. Further, a lot of Liberal voters would be Conservative voters if the yahoos weren't so overtly racist. People who would find socialest orange a step too far to protect themselves from racial discrimination and being shipped "back where they came from".

And since that's the case here in LEAFS SUCK and environs, it must therefore be the case everywhere. Therefore I must respectfully disagree with your post. A sternly worded letter will be arriving as soon as legal give it the thumbs up.

It's an easier position to take in BC given that it's been a mostly binary environment for a very long time. If the STV had passed I wouldn't have a problem with the Greens at all and I might be throwing votes their way.
