It's In My Head ALL DAY LONG

Paul Whiteman, C-O-N-S-T-A-N-T-I-N-O-P-L-E. Snagged here. There's much more at that site than meets the eye.

Please do not mention They Might Be Giants.

Must one be deceased to appear on the jazzbo site? Or does it just help?

How about Earth Kitt?

It helps if you're claiming that the songs are in the public domain, that's for sure.

Everyone can always mention Eartha Kitt all the time.

How about the Residents?

"Here I come, Constantinople!
Here I come, Constantinople!
Here I come, Constantinople!
I am coming, Constantinople!
Here I come!"

Ahhh....the ooooold songs.

The Residents are worthy of respect.

Howzabout I mention the Mekons?

Righteous Bubba said...

The Mekons are wonderful.

If ZRM mentions the Mekons, then...
Ummm...
I won't be at all surprised.

The People demand some Snakefinger vids. Otherwise we will be forced to spam the thread with links to the Hardiman Museum concertina collection.

This is fun:

But I can't think I did more for The People than they can do for themselves.

A long time ago I had a Residents CD-Rom...wonder if that exists as a website now...

Zombie, are you a Club Mekon member under another name? Have we hoisted a pint together? If not, you should and we should.

Capcha dictates that I must now cry out, "BESHINGA!"

Wasn't the second Mekon album called "Once my children wore stars in their hair but now they are content to put squirming badger mustaches on computer pictures."? Or was that Alice Cooper?

Capcha summons the demon FLUTUDS

Neither, but I'm sure I saw that title on the Aquarius Records new arrivals list recently.

Perhaps it was by the black metal band BROPORSE.

A mature person would not find this thread so immensely funny, but no-one has ever accused me of maturity. Or of PNERVE.

Bimler is The Man In The Black Sedan.

J Neo-

Yes to the Club Mekon. No to the hoisting of beers, at least not yet.

Unasked, but yes, to whether I am a fan of the Content Providers.

Or Conizes, as capcha insist they are named. Demon SPawn Corey! Arise!!

I can't decide whether it's a good idea or not to show that Residents video to my kid. It's the kind of thing that would have horrified me, but she's been on a big Constantinople kick lately.

It's a great video, but a little junk-centric at times. DON'T show her "Picnic in the Jungle."

I had assumed that it was you in the procession, waving your tendrils.
With Mikey riding in the studebaker.
No?

herr doktor bimler said...

Which reminds me, I must show the Doktorling some 'Nash the Slash' vids.

DANCE AFTER CURFEW!!!

It's depressing to realise how much my musical tastes were shaped by Lou Stathis' early-1980s columns in Heavy Metal, and how little they have progressed since then.
Nash's video for his version of 19th Nervous Breakdown sticks in my mind, but no-one seems to have uploaded it to Youtube.

It did surprise me way back when that there were unpictury things in Heavy Metal, but it also surprised me that I had paid for cartoon pornography when other types were out there.
