The middle thing, though, with the "honeychile" stuff always struck me as kinda racist. But I've been listening to The Ink Spots and I guess it's, uh, spot on:
I guess it all boils down to intent. Did Spike Jones intend to make fun of black people, or was he merely lampooning a popular musical trope, with the guy doing the voiceover in on the joke?
That being said, for some reason I was reminded of this, though the style it spoofs is from a somewhat later date.
