It Is Clear

Watched this today:
George Stephanopoulos: So what is the responsible way? That's my question. What is the Republican plan to deal with carbon emissions, which every major scientific organization has said is contributing to climate change?

House Minority Leader John Boehner, Master of the Pretend Budget: George, the idea that carbon dioxide is a carcinogen that is harmful to our environment is almost comical. Every time we exhale, we exhale carbon dioxide. Every cow in the world, you know, when they do what they do, you've got more carbon dioxide. And so I think it's clear...
Okay, carcinogens, climate change, carbon-dioxide, methane, yadda yadda yadda. What's clear to me is that John Boehner compared his breath to cow farts, and this, Americans, is the kind of honesty and clarity you can expect from Republicans.

  1. That honesty is somewhat refreshing, to be honest.

  2. I remain unimpressed until he compares his mind to cow dung and his thoughts to chocolate skittles.

  3. I was trying to think of some more comical misunderstanding but there's already "Liberal Fascism".

  5. This why no one will sit next to Mr. Boehner in meetings.
And "Every cow in the world, you know, when they do what they do", is about as much as Republican scientists have worked out about cows so far.

  6. Well, what do these cows do? Are they loyal?

  7. Some of these "cows" are called Holstein-Fresians which is very European sounding and they make cheese so I would guess not.

  8. The fact that we EXHALE CO2 should have told him something.

  9. It did! It taught him the Vitterish lesson that human waste is always okay.

  10. For Boehner, waiting to exhale means holding in a big one.

You know, even the Bush administration stopped their stupid "We're still waiting for the science to come in" line on anthropogenic climate change in its last couple of years. But then, I'm learning now that Bush was never really a good Republican anyway, so carry on, Boehner. Do your party proud.

  11. A clever Democrat could make Boehner go off on a tear about dihydrogen monoxide.

Every cow in the world, you know, when they do what they do

Am I wrong to sing this to the tune of 'Every breath you take'?
