That "See How Pretty" song is really heavy and dark and plodding. I've had a bad day and it's making it badder. The imagery in the video is really cheerful, too. I think I may have lost the appetite for that sort of thing now that I'm in my dotage.
It sounds like I'm bitching about the song, but actually I didn't hate it. I just imagine you have to be in a certain frame of mind to appreciate it.
Here's a semi-heavy song I love, though. It's one of my exercise songs. I mean, it's great on it's own, but it's also really motivational.
I'm busy chopping up J. Vernon McGee syllable by syllable and making him babble over a Cocteau Twins ripoff. The Melvins are not so far removed from that.
