I suppose I can sort of conceptually understand why people PLAY golf. I cannot, however, even begin to grasp why people WATCH golf. Some sports are designed from the ground up as spectator sports, a source of entertainment for an audience. Others are more strictly participatory, where there is no satisfaction provided other than by playing the game.
I have found many people become obsessive to the point of mental illness over the game of golf, so I can see why some would decide to analyze it at a highly granular level. But teh Subster is right - that doesn't make it any more interesting...
So, they instituted a "fair catch" rule, resulting in fewer tackles? Help me out here.

Golf is zen for businessmen. Or so they try to convince themselves.

ReplyDeleteI did not mean to tar the fine sport of mini-golf by associating it with golf. The two sports are completely different.
