In addition to other silliness,
the predoubtable Mr. Graham writes:The President, as evidenced by the recent election, is a master salesman. The Salesman-in-Chief. Unfortunately for Mr. Obama, Wall Street is not buying. They are having a tough time wrapping their collective heads around the concept that the way to juice the economy is to plunge the nation into a staggering multi-trillion dollar debt.
Everyone knows that the solons of Wall Street are very careful with money which is why everything is perfect.
Mr. Obama has never really ‘done’ anything other than to run for office. Oh, I know there was that stint as a Community Organizer.
ReplyDeleteAhh gee. If only we had Mr. Balanced Budget (G.W.Bush) back in office. There was a guy who pulled himself up by his own bootstraps.
~
Be fair. Bush also had the worldly experience of Dick Cheney at hand when he needed to be reined in from some impetuous decision.
ReplyDeleteSurely you meant to write "the stolons of Wall Street are very careful with money"; that way you could make a joke about "grass-roots movement".
ReplyDeleteI should have gone with colons so I could say something was punktuated.
ReplyDeleteWheatever
ReplyDeleteMy favouritest capcha "folingen"
I acknowledge Another Kiwi's rye sense of humour.
ReplyDelete[Still to come: jokes about "barley passable", and being struck in the mouth and left with 'sorghums'.]
There was a guy who pulled himself up by his own bootstraps.
ReplyDeleteIIRC, internet traditions still oblige us to describe Bush in terms of 'little sandals' or caligulae rather than boots. Didn't you get the memo?
Bush is scared of horses, but going to war with the sea sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteSometimes people talk about "bootstrapping one's way out of poverty", but they never go into details about how one traps boots. Do you dig a hole in the ground and cover it over and wait for them to fall in?
ReplyDeleteOne of these days these boots are gonna walk right over here.
ReplyDeleteI cloned Hitler's Boots!!
ReplyDeleteNo, wait, that was a Flaming Carrot story.
