Sure it was a buncha small towns, but there seemed to be more people and more towns just around every bend in the highway, so it wasn't like the expanses in the west of Canada.Substance McGravitashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04118764163822188800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2438801388377581634.post-64784793077929989512011-05-03T21:56:33.043-07:002011-05-03T21:56:33.043-07:00So loose federalism drives fellow sufferers in the...So loose federalism drives fellow sufferers in the north to urban centers, turning them to commies or worse? Hmmm. Tell that to American reactionaries.

A case could be made for the elimination of bogus provincial/state gov'ts. entirely, as long as power actually devolved to local & regional levels.

Oh damn, always a qualifier.M. Calgary and Edmonton keep getting uglier and sprawlier without adding reasons to visit their city centres. It's like you have to wake those people up and show them places where you don't have to drive for an hour to see a movie.Substance McGravitashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04118764163822188800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2438801388377581634.post-61721837774173111702011-05-03T12:09:48.728-07:002011-05-03T12:09:48.728-07:00Welcome to Stupidland, SMcG!

And a very real and important influence on mostly-urban Canadians is their civic government.

So if the national social programs don't get gutted we should do okay. The conservative backbenchers can be pretty radical but I don't think Harper is as stupid as they are.
